What is Coaching?

Coaching is an activity that enables you to focus on aspects of your life that you want to change or improve. When engaged in with a skilled coach it can be a very powerful way to make significant alterations to your performance at work, to your relationships with family and friends and to your work-life balance.

In our busy lives, trying to do the best for all our client groups (the boss, our staff, our children and spouses) we often lose sight of our own needs. Coaching not only helps us to regain control of our lives but also to work with those client groups(!) more fruitfully. Coaching is driven by your own goals and aspirations and is usually short term, practical and skills based.

Some of the areas in which coaching can help include:

Assertiveness

We have all experienced that sensation of disappointment in ourselves when we have taken on another task that we really don’t have the time or expertise to do justice to; or walked away from a conversation with a family member where we feel that we’ve been taken advantage of. By a systematic analysis of the thoughts and behaviours involved in these situations, Mindful Work can work with you to help you take a new approach.

Stress Management and Reduction

You know you are stressed. There are good reasons to be stressed. But now it's effecting life at home and your work is suffering. You’ve lost your sense of humour and you are irritable and tired most of the time. Sometimes the reasons aren’t always straightforward and a few sessions with a coach can help you to gain a new perspective on the issues in your life and teach you new skills that will avoid a dangerous build-up of stress occurring.

Time Management

A coach can help you to analyse which of your activities are important, which are not so and which can be delegated more effectively. There are emotional and behavioural aspects to making time management changes that a skilled coach can guide you through.

Coaching for Excellence

You are already doing very well in your chosen field but want to move to the next level. Coaching for excellence is about making what is good in your life even better and helping you to meet challenging new targets.
